The Ambulance Man attended the scene and took Bet Lynch to Weatherfield General when a fire broke out at the Rovers Return Inn in June 1986. He also briefly checked out Kevin Webster who had tried to rescue Bet and had dragged her to the window in her smoke-filled bedroom before the fire services arrived. The Ambulance Man agreed with Kevin's own diagnosis that he seemed fine and handed him over to the care of Sally Seddon and Hilda Ogden.
