Andrew Lancel

Andrew Lancel (born 3rd August 1970 in Rufford, Lancashire) appeared in Coronation Street in the role of Frank Foster between January 2011 and March 2012 after previously appearing in the programme as an extra. Lancel is best known for portraying Detective Inspector Neil Manson in The Bill, a role he played from 2003 to 2010 before being cast as Frank. He is also known for his roles in Cardiac Arrest, Bad Girls and Hillsborough.

In 2013 he faced a high-profile trial for under-age assault in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal, in which both Michael Le Vell and William Roache were also arrested. Like his Coronation Street co-stars, Lancel's trial resulted in a full acquittal following Not Guilty verdicts.
