John François Landry (born in Nairobi, Kenya) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in October 1971 as Jim Stoker, a drinking buddy of Stan Ogden; and he returned to the programme in November 1976 as wholesale bookseller Clifford Willis, delivering to The Kabin.

He also appeared in an extensive range of programmes from the 1960s to the 1990s including Stranger on the Shore, Dixon of Dock Green, Z Cars, Emmerdale Farm, Death or Glory Boy, Sykes and Sharon and Elsie. He played the regular role of Dolby in the 1976 ITV mini-series Dickens of London but remains best known for the part of Turtle which he played in the 1975 thriller The Hanged Man and its sequel Turtle's Progress from 1979 to 1980.

Film roles include Mosquito Squadron and Confessions of a Pop Performer.

On stage, he appeared in productions of The Avengers, The Rivals, The Knight of the Burning Pestle and Billy Liar.
