Doctor Cannon tended to Ena Sharples when she was hospitalised with severe concussion after a trip and subsequent fall in her haste to answer the telephone in June 1977. Ena was babysitting Tracy Langton at the time, and Tracy's parents Ray and Deirdre were worried when they couldn't get in contact with her. Albert Tatlock, waiting at Ena's bedside, made a nuisance of himself by incessantly questioning the doctor about her condition and then not understanding his answers. Cannon nevertheless dealt with him patiently and professionally.
