Ann Penfold (born 1943 in Brentford, Middlesex) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in January 1986 as Doreen Warburton, the maternal aunt of Jenny Bradley; and she returned to the programme in both December 1995 and October 1996 as Edith Firman, the wife of supermarket boss Eric Firman.

Her other credits include roles in Mr. John Jorrocks, The Expert, Villette, Owen, M.D., Public Eye, Cranford, The Brontës of Haworth, Angels, Winter Sunlight, No Place Like Home, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, The Wars of the Roses, The Bill, Casualty, EastEnders, Doctors, Kingdom and Tripped, along with the films Family Life and Keeping Rosy.

On stage, she appeared in productions including Richard III, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, 1066 and All That, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Saturday Sunday Monday, Bedroom Farce, Fallen Angels, This Happy Breed, Within the Fortress, All My Sons, Romeo and Juliet, The Fight for Barbara, Design for Living, Hippolytus and The Deep Blue Sea.

She is married to the actor Colin Farrell, who himself appeared on Coronation Street in two roles.
