John McGregor (born 10th March 1929 in Glasgow, died 31st January 1985 in Manchester) appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- G. Jennings, the registrar at the wedding of Elsie Tanner and Alan Howard in July 1970 (where he was credited in error as "John McRegor").
- Chauffeur Sandy Pirie in May 1974.
- Dr. Brooks, who attended an injured Len Fairclough in October 1976.
He had a long history of working for Granada Television in series such as The Verdict is Yours, Confession, Adam Smith, Sam, How We Used to Live, The Cuckoo Waltz, Send in the Girls, Crown Court, The Jewel in the Crown and Bulman. He also had a small role in the 1973 film The Wicker Man, provided voice work for What the Papers Say and was the presenter for World in Action and On Site.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Titus Andronicus and The Wallace.
He was married to Coronation Street producer June Howson from 1962 until his death.
