Plot[]
A pipe bursts in the Rovers' cellar. Hilda suspects Stan of having another woman when he gets later at coming home from his milk round. She notes in particular to Annie that he's taken to wearing a tie. Irma wonders why George Dickinson was rude to her in the shop. Annie wonders over the change in Lucille over the production. Florrie receives a postcard from Norman in Iceland. Norman passes on his regards to Elsie. Elsie feels there must be more to life than chasing after buses and fussing round women in silly dresses. Len tells Jack he needs a new pipe. Annie realises what's going on when Lucille tells her that tonight's rehearsal is at the boys' school. She decides to monitor the situation closely. Stan is late home again. Hilda demands to know the woman's name when he tells her that a customer invited him in for a cup of tea and a chat. He wins her over with flattery but Hilda finds a box of chocolates in his coat pocket and throws them at him, refusing to believe they were for her. Elsie rows with Mrs Dumbarton and walks out of Miami Modes. Albert is dissatisfied with the increase in state pension to 80/- a week. Stan removes a large woollen pullover from No.13 without Hilda seeing and gives it to Albert. Dot tells Elsie she just has to apologise and all is forgiven. Elsie refuses and writes her resignation. Hilda serves Stan's tea in the Rovers and tells him that he's not the only one who can play around.
