Plot[]

Part One: John and Fiz argue over the fraudulent job application. He gives in under the barrage of her anger and agrees to scrap his application. Steve, Becky, Eddie and Anna sit through the adoption meeting as the co-ordinator takes them through the requirements. John rescinds his application, but saying his arguments are now hypothetical, he tells Fiz how nothing could have gone wrong with his application he's even worked out how to set up a bank account in a false name. Fiz points out that he could have ended up back in prison. Becky's annoyed when Anna makes a whispered dig at the fact that they live in a pub. Ken tells Deirdre that he understands John's need to pursue his vocation. Chesney senses the tension between John and Fiz but they refuse to tell him what's going on. Refusing to give up, John gently keeps on at Fiz about how his plan could have worked, including working outside of neighbour's views in Rochdale, the place stated in the advert. The meeting breaks up. Becky makes disparaging remarks to Steve about Eddie's suitability. Kevin's cross to discover that Sophie's gone missing and leaves angry messages on her phone. Sophie arrives at Sian's mum's house in Southport. Sian invites her in on the proviso that she doesn't touch her.

Part Two: Sian's upset with Sophie for trying to kiss her. Saying she's not a lesbian and, objecting to Sophie experimenting on her, she declares that they're no longer friends. Returning from the meeting, Eddie expresses doubts about adopting to Anna. She thinks Steve and Becky have no chance. Fiz makes John thank Ken for the job advert he supplied. Deirdre sympathises with Fiz for having her husband who won't give up when he has his heart set on something. Fiz is given food for thought. Graeme tries to chat up Natasha in the pub but Natasha makes it clear she's not interested and talks to Ashley instead to distract the conversation. Sophie arrives home distressed. Kevin shouts at her for disobeying him but Rosie feels sorry for her sister who is grounded until the end of the month. John admits to Fiz he'll not be content outside of teaching. Natasha pointedly ignores Graeme as she chats to Ashley and then leaves. Rosie assumes her sister has boyfriend trouble and tells her she'll be over it by next week. Fiz relents and tells John that if it'll make him happy then he should go ahead with his crazy plan and apply for the teaching job. He's thrilled.
