Plot[]
Part One: Audrey visits Gail and tries not to let her get her hopes up about the witness, saying not to rely on her. Gail points out all the evidence that's in her favour. Steve assures Lloyd that Cheryl was definitely showing an interest in him. With visiting over, Gail admits that she's scared. Audrey fights back tears as she leaves. Robbie observes Carla from a distance as she locks up the factory. Anna tells Roy how upset Hayley was. Eileen informs Lloyd that Cheryl needs collecting but requested a different driver. Lloyd ignores her and sets off for Cheryl's house. Robbie calls at the cafe and Roy prepares him a fry-up as they chat about railways. Lloyd's surprised when she emerges with a young boy named Russ in tow, taking him to his grandad's house. Nick and David begin to panic as they imagine how the prosecution will tackle Anka's evidence and wonder if they've done the right thing.
Part Two: Having dropped Russ off, Cheryl explains to Lloyd she's still married to his father but all is not rosy. Lloyd's relieved she's put him in the picture. Jason warns Tina that Tracy is not to be trusted, but she has implicit faith that Gail is guilty. Janice is saddened when Trevor tells her that he'll be staying at Carla's flat tonight. Kirk asks Izzy about her disability, and she jokes that it was due to a hit and run when she was 13. Told the truth that it is a degenerative disease, Kirk tells her that his brother-in-law was killed in a hit-and-run. Eileen commiserates with Lloyd for getting nowhere with Cheryl. Ken and Deirdre wonder if Tracy is lying about Gail's confession in order to gain something for herself. Tina rejects Jason’s offer to take time off work and accompany her to court, but nevertheless asks him to stay with her. Audrey asks David outright if he had anything to do with the sudden emergence of the witness. He denies it. Audrey receives a call to say Anka will be giving evidence in court. Audrey apologises to David. Robbie observes Carla and Trevor together before ringing Tony in his cell, telling him everything is set regarding Roy and Carla, and that the gun he has works. Tony declares Carla's life will be ruined just like his.
