Plot[]
Becky tells Steve that she'll have to come clean if the police connect him to the Alahans. She fears Max will be taken into care. Owen informs the police that Eileen tried to swindle £10,000 from him. Sunita urges Dev not to contact the police by pointing out that the money would be seized as evidence. She convinces him to pay Owen to finish work on the corner shop. Steve tells Lloyd that Dev's going to the police. Lloyd's unsympathetic and orders Steve to get out of his sight. Steve's dejected. Carla offers Maria a job as PA at Underworld. Maria accepts. Eileen's sickened when the police turn up at Underworld and arrest her on suspicion of fraud. Everyone's shocked. Sean accompanies her to the police station. Steve feels he must stop Dev from going to the police. Becky thinks they should flee. Ashamed Eileen confesses to the fraud but points out that she did repay the money. Her solicitor pleads for leniency and Eileen is cautioned and released. Steve visits No.7 and steels himself as he admits to looting from the Alahans' shop and returning the cash anonymously. Dev and Sunita are astonished. Steve pleads for forgiveness but they are disgusted by his betrayal. Dev vows to notify the police. Steve's aghast.
