Plot[]

Part One: Kylie makes fun of the absurdity of Callum's proposal. She says Max spending time with him makes her physically sick. Leanne is disgusted with Dan but agrees not to tell Liz the truth. Ken is disappointed to discover he's got Simon the same game Leanne got him. Cathy turns against Roy when she gets the impression he thinks of her as a project. She throws him out when they struggle over an old newspaper and tear it in half. Carla comes to the rescue when she arrives with Simon's present - the trainers he wants, in the right colour. Kylie wastes no time telling David about Callum's offer. She's incredulous when he doesn't believe her. Kylie reminds him that he threw her out on Christmas Day; she wasn't the one who gave up on them.

Part Two: Sophie is worried when Kevin keeps making excuses to stay at home. He says he just needs time. Leanne tackles Simon about his playing truant from school. She's angry to discover he's arranged to go out with his mates even though they'd planned to have a birthday tea together. Simon shows her the trainers Carla got him and calls her hopeless, ugly and mean. Liz wonders why Leanne seemed so flustered earlier but Dan convinces her it was nothing. Kylie is fed up not knowing where she stands with David and packs her things. They agree they can't pretend any more. Roy seeks Carla's advice over Cathy. Carla advises him to leave well alone. Ken writes out a birthday card for Deirdre. David finally forgives Kylie and they cement their reconciliation with a kiss. Leanne breaks down over the day's events.
