She tells him that he and Reg aren't the role models she wants for her son. He walks out of The Queens. Rita is annoyed when Alf warns her that Jenny might be taking advantage of her. - Viewing Figures: UK broadcast - 13,940,000 viewers (5th place - combined figure including repeat).
- The Granada Plus repeat of this episode on 6th August 2004 was edited for timing reasons, trimming 1'33" from the end of a scene in Balmoral Guest House in Part Two, where Jack Duckworth reminisces with Jeff Horton about a dalliance with an Australian ballet dancer in Blackpool in his youth, before Vera returns and hands him a stack of postcards to write. Jeff does not appear elsewhere in the episode. The ITV3 repeat on 3rd October 2019 reinstated the cut material.
Notable dialogue[]
Bet Gilroy (about Tanya Pooley): "She plays that bar like a finely tuned instrument, I'll give 'er that."
