George was a trampish elderly customer at Billy Featherstone's betting shop, who chatted to Steve McDonald, recognising in him someone who was becoming something of a regular. He commented that it was as good a place as any to lose your money and a cocky Steve replied that he intended to win, not lose, upon which George wished him good luck.
- George was the sixth and final guest part played in the programme by Arthur Spreckley, who had first appeared in December 1966.
