Royston Tickner (born 8th September 1922 in Leicester, died 7th July 1997 in Gibralta) played three roles on Coronation Street:

He trained as an actor at Scarborough repertory theatre and served in the Royal Navy in the Second World War. Afterwards he worked as both a stage manager and an actor but between 1947 and 1958 he changed occupation several times and was a lighthouse keeper, a miner, a fireman and a publican.

He began his television career at the start of the 1960s and his other credits include Harpers West One, Z Cars, The Plane Makers, Sergeant Cork, Quick Before They Catch Us, The Baron, Inheritance, Timeslip, The Flaxton Boys, Doctor Who, Crossroads, Emmerdale Farm, Rogue's Rock, 4 Idle Hands, Danger UXB, Just Good Friends and One by One.

Film roles include Becket, Work Is a 4-Letter Word, All Neat in Black Stockings, Goodbye, Mr. Chips and Anne of the Thousand Days.

On stage, he appeared in productions of Rebecca and They Might Be Giants.
