Richard Steele (born 15th November 1926 in Gateshead, died 30th April 2004 in Hackney, London) appeared on Coronation Street in December 1970 as Detective Sergeant Jones, in attendance when Joe Donelli held Minnie Caldwell hostage at gunpoint inside No.5.
His other credits include Probation Officer, No Hiding Place, Crossroads, The Troubleshooters, The Newcomers, Dixon of Dock Green, Doctor Who, Z Cars, The Witch's Daughter, The Stars Look Down, Within These Walls, Angels, Andy Robson and Grange Hill.
On stage, he appeared in productions of The Real McCoy, The Unexpected Guest, Pygmalion, The Taming of the Shrew, Screen Play, Goodnight Mrs Puffin, Suez, I Have Been Here Before, While the Sun Shines and Edmund Ironside.
