Jean Lockhart (born 25th June 1916 in Swansea, died 14th June 1987 in Peterborough) appeared on Coronation Street in two different roles: firstly as a Lake District pub landlady in October 1969 (appearing alongside her real-life husband, Peter Schofield); and she returned to the programme as Weatherfield Town Hall committee member Mrs Mellish in May 1971.

Her other credits included roles in Shadow Squad, Castle Haven, Tom Grattan's War, Follyfoot and the 1978 film International Velvet.

On stage, she appeared in productions of Is Your Honeymoon Really Necessary?, This Happy Breed, As Black As She's Painted, Love on Ice, And Sat Down Beside Her, Peril at End House, Spring and Port Wine, Someone Waiting and Uproar in the House.
