Michael was an attendee at Peter Barlow’s AA meeting who was telling the group that he had run through the gamut of excuses as to why he drank until he reached the point where one day he admitted that the real reason was that he had a problem. His confession was followed by the sudden entrance of a new member of the class: Carla Connor who, as soon as she saw Peter there, garbled an excuse and fled.
