Minnie Mandeville was a pupil at Weatherfield High who was assigned to Elliott & Son butchers in October 2004 on a work experience programme.
While serving Sean Tully, Minnie began sneezing and was sharply pulled up by proprietor Fred Elliott for not using a handkerchief and then, for wiping her nose on the sleeve of her overall. Fred then proceeded to serve Sally Webster, and likened the shop to Piccadilly Circus as son Ashley had booked the day off, assistant Boris Weaver had phoned in sick because of a verruca and declared Minnie next to useless, citing that if brains were gunpowder, she couldn't blow a hat off.
