Barbara Ashcroft (born 1927 in Liverpool) played two parts on Coronation Street: Mary Jackson, co-owner of Jackson's Chip Shop in February 1961 and Sylvia's Separates customer Mrs. Ferguson in October 1976.

In an acting career spanning five decades, her other credits include roles in Jango, Z Cars, Last of the Mohicans, General Hospital, New Scotland Yard, Emmerdale Farm, Angels, The Liver Birds, The Gentle Touch, Minder, Open All Hours, The Bill, Grange Hill, Nelson's Column, One Foot in the Grave and Ban This Filth.

On stage, she appeared in a UK touring production of Murder at the Vicarage.
