PC Marks and her colleague PC Gran dealt with two incidents involving Coronation Street residents in 2013:

In March, Jason Grimshaw discovered that his van had been stolen whilst he was in a meeting to discuss details of a building contract with council officials. The officers called into the Rovers to confirm that a vehicle matching the same description had been found burnt out on some wasteland near the end of Corporation Road, and that they'd received information that someone closely resembling Jason was seen running away from the burning vehicle. The officers questioned Jason further in the privacy of the pub's back room but had to postpone their enquiries when Jason's partner Stella Price could verify the time that he arrived back after the incident. In reality, a bitter Karl Munro had taken the van and set fire to it, after overhearing that Jason was attending a meeting at Hebden House and followed him there.

In August, the officers called round to 10a Coronation Street to take a statement from Rita Tanner. After she had been cornered and taunted by a gang of youths on the Red Rec, they ultimately made off with her handbag and mobile phone. Having stated that the area was usually well patrolled, the officers took descriptions of some of the youths and advised Rita to put a stop on her mobile phone and any bank cards that she may have had in her purse at the time.

In December 2017 she was back at the street when she called at the Rovers to interview Leanne Battersby after she was conned by charming fraudster Chris Anderton. Landlady Toyah Battersby had opened a bed and breakfast at the pub and the man calling himself Chris was their first customer. Free and single after her split from Nick Tilsley earlier in the year, Leanne was instantly attracted to the good-looking man who claimed he was in the property game. Helping her house search in order that she could end her lodging arrangement in the Street Cars flat, Chris wined and dined Leanne, all the time chatting to her on subjects which would give him personal data for him to gain access to her bank account. Stealing her phone, he emptied her account of its balance of £25,980, and then did a disappearing act. PC Marks took the details but was honest in saying there was very little chance of them finding Chris as all they had to go on were a few clothes left behind in his room. Giving Leanne a short warning about sharing confidential information, the officer apologised that they couldn't do more. She answered Eva Price's question about possible insurance by expressing surprise if such a thing was in place for such eventualities, and left. Toyah invited both of her homeless sisters to move into the pub with her.
