PC Nelson arrived at 4 Coronation Street in October 2011 to question Rosie Webster over her ordeal after she was kidnapped by John Stape for a second time. She asked Rosie if John had been aggressive to her, to which Rosie confirmed and said that he got agitated when she couldn't recall the information he was trying to get her to remember. Rosie then told Nelson about how John schooled her in the deaths of Colin and Joy Fishwick and Charlotte Hoyle. However, Nelson told Rosie and her family that her evidence wasn't compelling enough to stand up in court, to which Sally angrily remarked that Rosie had been held hostage for nothing.
