PC Reynolds was called to the Weatherfield Arms when Ciaran McCarthy's stag night party were ejected from the pub in December 2003 after barmaid Cilla Brown was fired for giving the party free drinks. The group was noisy but law-abiding however the groom was regretting his rashness in agreeing to marry Sunita Parekh and was desperate for an opportunity for the ceremony not to go ahead. In full view of the police, he therefore picked a fight with rival Dev Alahan and punched him to the ground. Reynolds and his colleague put a satisfied Ciaran into their car and drove him off to the cells for the night.
