Rick was Alfie Vlok's cameraman for the television coverage of the Sunshine Family of South Africa competition held in 2008 in Sun City, South Africa. Rick followed Vlok round as he interviewed the contestants and filmed them at the talent contest and on a trip to the bush. A thorough professional, he was under no illusions about the washed-up Vlok and delighted in humbling him over his obsession with status on matters such as the size of his hotel room and even his tent while camping in the bush.
