Anthony Sagar (born 19th June 1920 in Burnley, died 24th January 1973 in Kensington, London) appeared on Coronation Street in September 1961 as a sergeant at Tile Street police station.
His other television credits include roles in Dixon of Dock Green, The Grove Family, Pepe Moreno, Boyd Q.C., Garry Halliday, No Hiding Place, Z Cars, Smugglers' Cove, Swallows and Amazons, Harry Worth and Dad's Army.
Film roles include Sailor Beware, X the Unknown, I Was Monty's Double, Girls at Sea, The 39 Steps, The Early Bird, Villain, Our Miss Fred, The Offence and seven films in the Carry on series.
On stage, he appeared in The Hasty Heart, Thunder Rock, Painted Sparrows and Trespass for the Wolverhampton Repertory Company. Other theatre work included Tons of Money, Loophole, Full House, The Hollow, Bruno and Sidney, Mountain Air, The Lovebirds, The Ring of Truth, There's a Girl in My Soup and Epitaph for George Dillon.
