Frazer Hines (born 22nd September 1944 in Leeds) played Roger Wain in Coronation Street in March and June 1965. His acting career began in 1954 and an early film role saw him act opposite Charlie Chaplin in A King in New York in 1957.
Most famous for his roles outside of Coronation Street, he played Jamie McCrimmon in Doctor Who (1966 to 1969), a part he returned to twice on the television in the 1980s. Hines's connection with the character continues as he recently recorded an audio book narrating a new Doctor Who story in character. He also appeared as Joe Sugden in Emmerdale Farm, a part he played for twenty-two years starting in 1972.
