Fred was a horse who appeared on Coronation Street in August 1967 as Horace, who led a barge - with Jack Walker, Albert Tatlock, Steve Tanner, Stan Ogden, David Barlow and Gregg Flint all onboard - through the Cheshire canals in the programme's first all-location episode.
