Beattie Pearson, played by Gabrielle Daye appeared occasionally in Coronation Street for over twenty years. Born in Manchester on 2nd October 1911 she died on the 5th January 2005. She appeared in several episodes of Play for Today, as well as single episodes of All Creatures Great and Small, Survivors, and Juliet Bravo. Apart from her role in Coronation Street she will be best remembered for her regular role in twenty one episodes of Bless me, Father as the long term sparring partner and house keeper of Father Duddleswell, played by Arthur Lowe.
