Gavin Blyth (27th October 1969 - 26th November 2010) was a storyliner (then termed a "story associate") on Coronation Street with 152 episodes to his credit from October 2005 to April 2006. He then became the series' story editor for a further 152 episodes until November 2006 after which he was the programme's assistant producer and in 2008 produced Coronation Street: Out of Africa.
Born in Southport, his first job after leaving school was as a sports journalist and then a photographer. His first work in television was as a senior publicist on Emmerdale, followed by positions of storyliner and story editor on the same programme. He returned to Emmerdale as producer in 2009 and was still in the role when he died of lymphoma at the age of 41.
