Gemma Langford (born in Manchester) appeared on Coronation Street in three roles within law enforcement:

Having completed training at the Douglas Webber Academy in 2003, other credits include roles in Broken Commandments, Hollyoaks and the 2008 short film Second Guest. On stage she has appeared in productions of Stand, The Ribbon Cage and 24 Arty People.

Winning a bursary to study at the Arvon Foundation, her first full-length play We Were Here was shortlisted for the prestigious Bruntwood prize. In 2009 she won a place on the Jerwood Mentoring Scheme and was then chosen by the Royal Exchange Theatre to be one of "The Twelve" before becoming writer in residence for Theatre503. She currently leads Scriptwriting classes for institutions such as the Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts and WriteOn.
