Becky Granger was in the first stages of getting herself hopelessly drunk after being betrayed in love by Jason Grimshaw. She went to Shakers Nightclub in October 2008 and came on to a Bouncer who was glad of her advances but had to leave her for a moment to sort out some trouble. When he had gone, she turned her attentions to another young man named Dave Simpson, asking him to buy her a snakebite but suddenly changed tactics when his furious Girlfriend turned up, slapping him across the face and accusing him of lewdly propositioning her. The bloke and his girlfriend began a huge argument, under cover of which Becky managed to steal the girl's purse from her dropped handbag and slink away to buy more drink.
