Graeme Proctor was the cellmate of David Platt between April and June 2008. He then returned in November of the same year.

Biography

2008-2010: ArrivalEdit
He made his first appearance on 18th April 2008. Graeme was originally sentenced to a stint inside Larchfield Young Offenders Institute for setting his gran's home on fire and throwing a pork pie at a neighbour! David was sent down for pushing his mother down the stairs and causing havoc on the Street. Graeme's behaviour upon first meeting David made him feel that Graeme was "weird".
Graeme returned to the Street in November, after he had rung David regarding his release from Larchfield, and being thrown out of his home after he'd had an argument with his mother. David allowed Graeme to sleep on his sofa overnight, much to the dislike of David's girlfriend, Tina. Graeme then pursued a job at the local butcher's, receiving a job from Ashley Peacock. David's mother, Gail, eventually asked him to move out, but Graeme remained in Weatherfield to continue to be employed at the butcher's.
2010-2011: Getting together with TinaEdit
After the death of Tina McIntyre's dad Joe, Tina became depressed and stopped eating. Graeme noticed this and befriended Tina. They began a relationship in late June 2010. In October 2010, while returning from work, Graeme was hit by Audrey Roberts' car which was driven by David, who was in a bad mood. The car stopped after hitting Graeme and David was found in the car after he fainted. Believing David attempted to kill him on purpose, Graeme was going to make sure David was sent down. However it was later transpired it wasnt David's fault as he had an epileptic fit at the wheel of the car. They made up and became friends again.
On the 6th December 2010, a tram crashed into the street destorying the Kabin, and Graeme and Tina's home above the Corner Shop. On the night of the crash, Graeme lost his friend Ashley and he helped Peter Barlow and Nick Tilsley escape the destroyed Joinery, which left him devestated.
When Ashley' widowed wife Claire was in trouble with police for attacking Tracy Barlow on the New Year (Tracy got out of prison and made remarks towards Ashley), Graeme managed to get fake papers set up to help Claire escape with her children Joshua and Freddy.
2011: Sham WeddingEdit
In 2011, while taking Tina out to a chinese restuaraunt for Valentine's Day, they bumped into a friend of Tina's, Xin. However Xin was having problems with paying her rent, so Graeme and Tina offered her to stay with them in Dev's flat. But Dev wanted to raise the rent, and Xin decided against it.
Later on, Xin would have to be sent back to her country and she couldnt get a job in a nursing course, and would be deported back. Tina came up with a plan to keep Xin in the country, if Graeme would marry her. He was a bit reluctant, but agreed. Graeme and Tina staged a breakup in the pub, and Graeme started a "relationship" with Xin. Xin later moved in to the Corner Shop with Graeme (after it was repaired after the tram crash). They later began to set up a fake backstory for their life together, and invited Emily Bishop and Norris Cole round for dinner and set up the place to look like it was Christmas in order to make it seem like they where together a while. But Norris began to get suspicious about the wedding. When they couldnt find a day to book the wedding, Graeme asked David if they can have a double wedding with him, as David was marrying his wife-to be Kylie Turner, which they accepted.
On the day of the wedding, Graeme kissed Tina, which was spotted by Norris. While Tina attempted to keep Norris quiet during the wedding, Graeme later married Xin and went through with it. However Norris confronted him and Tina later, and confessed the truth to Rita, who was disgusted and upset for being lied to. Norris also threatened that he will expose them when asked questions. However Norris' friend Mary Taylor found out and phoned the immigration, and they where arriving to meet Graeme and Xin. Xin decided to flee and take the blame, but Graeme went to look for her and brought her back, and decided she couldn't take the blame. They both managed to convince the immigration that it wasn't a scam, and Xin later got her Visa.
However he began to develop feelings for Xin, and later slept with her.

- Craig Gazey was originally cast for a short 2-month stint as the cell mate of David Platt but after impressing Coronation Street bosses, joined the cast on a permanent basis.
