Hilary Mason (born Birmingham, 4th September, 1917, died Milton Keynes 5th September, 2006) played two parts on Coronation Street: Emily Ainsworth in January 1965 and then Amy Wilton, Derek's mother, in August 1976.

She trained at the London School of Dramatic Art before appearing at various repertory theatres across the country before the Second World War during which she worked for ENSA. Her long career in television began in 1955 and saw her appear in , among other series, BBC Sunday-Night Theatre, Suspense, Swizzlewick, United!, Dixon of Dock Green, Take Three Girls, Z Cars, Within These Walls, Edward the Seventh, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin, Ripping Yarns, Minder, The Young Ones, Tales of the Unexpected, Constant Hot Water (starring Patricia Phoenix), Bergerac, Lovejoy, One Foot in the Grave, Casualty and Where The Heart Is.

On film she played the notable role of a psychic in the 1973 chiller Don't Look Now.
