Ian Burns (born 10th February 1957) appeared on Coronation Street in September and November 1981 as Ronnie Burgess, who stole the takings at the Fourways Garage where Brian Tilsley worked evening shifts.
Graduating from Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre in 1979, his other credits include roles in ITV Playhouse, Daughters of Albion, Angels, Liebe Mutter and Shadow of the Noose, while on stage he appeared in productions of Way Down, Self-Inflicted Wound, The Room, Blood Brothers, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui and Lennon.
He is the artistic director of That Theatre Company and has lived in Copenhagen since 1990. In Denmark he has performed and produced his own material and English language plays. In 1999 he was nominated for a Reumert in the category "Best show of the year" for his show Jurassic Pork with Tom McEwan.
