Imogen Mary Pratt Boorman was born 13th May, 1971 in Pembury, Kent. She was educated at Benenden School in Cranbrook, Kent and gained her further education at the Kent Institute of Art and Design at Maidstone studying for a BTEC Foundation Diploma in General Art and Design.
However during this period she was also an actress appearing as a child in series such as Frost in May and The Tripods and gaining cult status for her role in the 1988 film Hellbound: Hellraiser II. In March 1992 she played Bettabuy graduate trainee Vanessa Morgan in Coronation Street in a classic series of comedy episodes for the programme in which manager Reg Holdsworth gave the young girl a hard time until he discovered that she was the daughter of company chairman, Lord Walter Morgan, after which his bullying behaviour did a complete about-turn.
Imogen appeared in Lovejoy and Casualty among several series and looked set for a notable career when she suddenly gave up the acting profession. An unsubstantiated comment on the internet claims that she exited when she developed a drinking problem.
