Jack Woolgar (15th September, 1913 to 14th July 1978) played three roles in Coronation Street: a Television Man in January 1961, a Darts Stallholder in August 1961 and cantankerous pensioner Arthur Noblett in September 1970, five years after appearing in two separate roles in the spin-off comedy Pardon the Expression. Amongst other acting roles he appeared in Crossroads from 1975 to 1978, six episodes of Doctor Who (Staff Sergeant Arnold in The Web of Fear in 1968) and was a regular guest actor on television in series such as Budgie.
