Jane How (born 21st December 1950 in London) appeared on Coronation Street in December 2000 as Sylvia Monroe, a prosecution barrister at Jim McDonald's sentencing for the murder of Jez Quigley.

After training at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art where she won the Rodney Millington Award, she spent several years in provincial theatre.

Perhaps best known in the role of Jan Hammond in EastEnders, her credits include roles in Kate, Doctor Who, General Hospital, The Foundation, The Spoils of War, Don't Wait Up, Heartbeat, Bad Girls, The Royal, Casualty, Holby City, Doctors and Love & Marriage.

On stage she has appeared in productions of Return of A J Raffles, Easy Virtue, Getting Married, Summer Lightning, Home and Beauty and The Ring of Truth.
