Jeffry Wickham (5th August 193317th June 2014) appeared in Coronation Street in September 1964 as Nigel Hunt.

He made his television debut in 1960 in the Shakespearean cycle An Age of Kings alongside Violet Carson in one of her last roles before stardom beckoned as Ena Sharples. He went on to appear in a long list of roles including parts in Emergency-Ward 10, Doctor Who, The Wednesday Play, No Hiding Place, Dixon of Dock Green, Manhunt, Jason King, Edward the Seventh, The Sweeney, When the Boat Comes In, Secret Army, Crown Court, Play for Today, Sapphire & Steel, Blott On The Landscape, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Peak Practice and Midsomer Murders.

Film roles included You Only Live Twice, Waterloo, Another Country, Clockwise, The Remains of the Day and vera Drake.

His many stage roles included The Voysey Inheritance, Their Very Own and Golden City, and Serjeant Musgrave’s Dance all at the Royal Court, as well as Amadeus, An Ideal Husband and Platonov.

From 1992 to 1994 he was President of Equity, the actors' union.
