Jim Hitchmough (1st September, 1934 - ? May, 1997) was an award-winning television writer. He scripted only three episodes of Coronation Street, the last in October 1996, but had also scripted for Albion Market and Brookside. Jim created the Granada situation comedy Watching, which won the British Comedy Award for Best ITV Sitcom in 1993. He passed away in May 1997 from a brain tumour.
