Jim Whelan (born 1942 in Salford) appeared on Coronation Street in five roles:
- A customer in the corner shop in March 1973
- Reverend Pike, officiating at the burial of Lisa Duckworth in February 1993
- A postman in August 1995 and January 1996
- A vicar, who appeared intermittently between February 2004 and May 2008
- Reverend Todd in October 2008.
He also appeared as an extra on the programme from 1965 onwards.
Starting his career in the amateur theatre and repertory of Oldham, his other television credits include roles in Crown Court, Last of the Summer Wine, The Liver Birds, Three Seven Eleven, Heartbeat, Emmerdale, The Royal, Blackpool, Home Fires and This England.
Film roles include Velvet Goldmine, Snake Eyes and There's Only One Jimmy Grimble.
His autobiography entitled "What a Life!" was published in July 2011.
