Joby Blanchard played four roles in Coronation Street: Town Hall official Mr. Harper in March 1961, a Police Constable in September 1965, P.C. Roberts in May 1967 and then finally works manager Mr Swift in January 1982.

Although born Joby Blanshard on 17th November 1919, Joby is often credited, as here, as Blanchard. A native of Yorkshire he has appeared regularly on television in, amongst many shows, several episodes of Z Cars and A Horseman riding by. He will be best remembered as Colin Bradley in thirty two episodes of Doomwatch. He died on 26th November 1992.
