John Kidd (21st July 1907 - 21st January 1995) appeared in two roles in Coronation Street: Marriage Bureau owner Mr Benjamin in July 1968 and Health Inspector George Cavendish in December 1970.
His career lasted for many years with numerous roles in film and television. Notable parts include appearances in The Quatermass Experiment, Dixon of Dock Green, Boyd Q.C., Emergency-Ward 10, No Hiding Place, The Forsyte Saga, The Wednesday Play, The Avengers, Doomwatch, Upstairs, Downstairs, The Onedin Line , When the Boat Comes In, Brideshead Revisited and The Chinese Detective.
Film roles include Witchfinder General and Plenty.
