John Middleton (born 7th September 1953 in Bradford) appeared in two roles in Coronation Street: in February and March 1993 he played John Hargreaves who knocked down and killed Lisa Duckworth, while in May and June 1995 he played surgeon Mr Mitchell.
In 1998, he played Coronation Street's creator, Tony Warren, in the ITV drama The Things You Do for Love: Against the Odds.
He is best known for playing Ashley Thomas in Emmerdale from 1996 to 2017, but he has also appeared in In Suspicious Circumstances, Hollyoaks, Prime Suspect 3, Cracker and Hetty Wainthropp Investigates.
