Actor John Who appeared in Coronation Street in October 1977 as one of two Rugby Players who pushed a little old lady called Fay towards the stage of the Gatsby Club when Ralph Lancaster appealed for a piano player to replace Ernest Bishop who had to cry off due to having injured his hand.

One of his earliest credits roles was in the Granada Television play Another Sunday and Sweet F.A. in 1972, written by Jack Rosenthal and starring Fred Feast, Lynne Carol and featuring the television debut of Anne Kirkbride. He also made appearances in Raffles, All Creatures Great and Small and Raffles
