Jonathan Ellis appeared on Coronation Street in September 2000 as a Doctor at Weatherfield General who treated Steve McDonald after being beaten up and left for dead by Jez Quigley.

He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and in Musical Theatre at the Guildford School of Acting Conservatoire, and has also worked as an entertainment correspondent for CNN, as a guest presenter for QVC and has presented many corporate events in the UK, United States and Dubai.

His other credits include roles in Family Affairs, Is Harry on the Boat?, The Courtroom, Sugar Rush and Playhouse Presents, along with the films De-Lovely, The Phantom of the Opera and Batman Begins.

On stage he has appeared in productions of Les Miserables, A Terrible Beauty, The Pajama Game, Suddenly Home, Mack and Mabel, 42nd Street, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Brighton Beach Memoirs, The Hired Man, Chicago, Twelfth Night, Hello Dolly, Aspects of Love, The Awakening, The 5000 Fingers of Dr T and Murderous Instincts.
