Julie Barclay appeared in Coronation Street in August 2014 as Meg Ollerenshaw - the fierce and strong willed owner of Albert Tatlock's military medal.

An actress since 1984, Julie was born in Hertfordshire but has lived in Wales since she was sixteen and trained at the Welsh College of Music and Drama. She has appeared in Torchwood, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Good Arrows and Belonging.

Her most recent theatre roles include Bertha in Boeing Boeing and Nurse in Romeo and Juliet for Black Rat Productions, the title role in Maudie's Rooms produced by Sherman/Cymru and Roar Ensemble. She has worked for Hull Truck Theatre in the original cast of Salt of the Earth by John Godber and for West Yorkshire Playhouse, Northcott Theatre in Exeter and Soho Theatre.

She directs for The Welsh Fargo Stage Company and Be:spoken Theatre and teaches for the Young Actors Studio based at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
