Kate Lee appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as WPC Harris who found a suicidal Deirdre Langton on the canal towpath after daughter Tracy had gone missing following the Rovers lorry crash in March 1979; and she returned to the programme as Kath Simpson, a short-term employee at Jim's Cafe in September 1982 (Kath Simpson was the sister of café owner Alma Sedgewick as relayed from Brian Tilsley to Mavis Riley in the same episode).
Trained at the National Youth Theatre and New College of Speech & Drama in London, her other credits include roles in Cribb, Strangers, A Kind of Loving, Crown Court, The Practice and Wind in the Willows.
A change of career saw the creation of Kate Lee Communications, which is now established as an expert training provider specialising in voice, presentation and influential communication.
