Linda Jean Barry appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in July 1981 as Baldwin's Casuals machinist Lynn Watts; and she returned to the programme in November 1985 as a Ward Sister at Weatherfield General when Jack Duckworth was admitted after falling off his ladders during his window-cleaning round.

Graduating from Manchester University and The Central School of Speech and Drama, she began her career in Music Hall at the Players Theatre in London's Charing Cross and went on to perform in repertory.

Her other credits include roles in Love Among the Artists, Leave It to Charlie, The Cuckoo Waltz, The Bill, No Place Like Holmes and The Mary Morstan Mysteries.
