Lynda Rooke has played three roles on Coronation Street:
- Ingram's Textiles machinist Laura Collins between August and December 1990
- Rovers Return manager applicant Ruth Horner in December 2000
- Soup kitchen organiser Eleanor Jacobs in December 2013 and January 2014.
She has also appeared in Z cars, Angels, Brookside, Grange Hill, Pat and Margaret, The Bill, Foyle's War, Silent Witness, Endeavour and several roles in both Doctors and Casualty.
In 2012 she played the part of Patricia Phoenix in the play The Queen of the North at the Octagon, Bolton. On stage she has also appeared in A Taste of Honey, Serjeant Musgrave's Dance, Raving Beauties, A Man for all Seasons and Piaf.
She is married to actor/director Andy Hay who has also appeared in minor roles on the programme. The couple live in Bristol and have three children.
