Mabel Gilroy was the mother of Alec and Edna Gilroy. Wife of Reg, Mabel and the family lived at 4 Back Gas Street in Weatherfield. Mabel was employed at Tasker's Glue Factory, the odour of which clung to her clothes at home. When Alec and Edna were still children, Reg left her for another woman.
