Maggie Mash was heard in Coronation Street in November 1982 as the voice of Sharon Elliott, a storyteller on Radio Weatherfield who read out Mavis Riley and Victor Pendlebury's entry in the station's short story competition.
Maggie was born in York but raised in Cyprus and she is fluent in French, Italian, Spanish and Greek. She trained as an actress and began her career in forces radio, working later for the BBC and independent stations. For several years she was a continuity announcer at Yorkshire Television. Other programmes which have used her vocal talents include Emmerdale and What The Papers Say.
